We are excited to announce that Rock Point School will host a public lecture by Dave Melnick, LICSW, Director of Outpatient Services at NFI, Vermont.
When: 6:30-8:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015
Where: Main Street Landing Performing Arts Center, Film House, 60 Lake Street, Burlington, VT
Dave will feature three areas of importance to parents and professionals who provide care to adolescents, with a focus on current research as well as practical ways to address the challenges of adolescence.
1. The Adolescent Brain: What today’s science tells us about the art of raising teens
2. Risk Taking: How can it be both reckless and reasonable at the same time?
3. Media Use: How today’s ‘Digital Natives’ are raising themselves
We hope parents and professionals who provide care to adolescents will attend to learn about how adolescent brain development impacts behavior and to gain some practical ways to handle the challenges of raising adolescents in the digital age. Click here for more information and to RSVP.
