Rock Point School is located on a quiet, wooded campus on Lake Champlain and a short distance from downtown Burlington and its bustling Church Street pedestrian mall. This offers students a natural retreat-like space without distractions to focus on learning, yet access to all that Burlington has to offer as a community.

Burlington, Vermont:
The nation’s smallest big city

Students often say that when it comes to Burlington, it was love at first sight. Burlington is one of America’s most beautiful and liveliest small cities (population: 40,000), and it charms with its proximity to Vermont’s idyllic countryside.

The city of Burlington and its surrounding areas have received international publicity as one of America’s most desirable places to live for its arts, healthy lifestyle, outdoor fun and safety. A sampling of accolades include ranking number 1 by CBS News/Gallup among the 10 Happiest Small Cities in America, National Geographic (Read America’s Best Adventure Towns), The New York Times (Read “36 Hours in Burlington, Vt.”), Outside and Travel + Leisure magazines.

Here are a few of our favorite places in town to visit with our students:

The Flynn Center for the Performing Arts - We take students to performances, workshops, and classes here regularly through the school year.

Church Street Marketplace- A walking mall with restaurants, coffee shops, independent bookstores, and lots of other places to shop.

The Echo Center & Waterfront Park - The Echo Center offers educational programs and internships for students, while Waterfront Park is a beautiful place to enjoy the beauty of Lake Champlain.

The Intervale Center- Home to many of the farms that supply our food.

Burlington City Arts - Classes and galleries for artists of all ages.
