Summer Highlights ... Not just in your hair

Posted by Molly Huddle Coffey | September 3, 2015

Summer Session was full of awesomeness! Our Cultivations Class was extremely productive, and we are still reaping the benefits like tomatoes, peppers, kale, a fabulous herb garden, and so much more! Students learned about wildcrafting, the geology of Rock Point, traditional wood carving, and gardening. Our instructors, Jessie and Alex, were informative, fun, and inspirational.

This summer, we traveled every weekend! It was great for students to get out of town, see more of New England, and have time to bond in the van. We went to Boston and the Massachussetts shore, Montreal, New Hampshire, and camping around Vermont. Students tried new activities from sailing to rock climbing.

We also had visitors including four students from China, a group from Spectrum, Girls Rock VT, and Dirt Divas. The energy these groups brought to the building was fresh and exciting and we were so happy to get to know some new people!

It was such a successful Summer Session and we were sad to see our summer students head home! We can't wait to share what they accomplished with our students in the fall.
