On June 7th, we had the great privilege of graduating this wonderful group of students! At our ceremony, we heard testimony from family, friends, and staff members confirming the hard work, growth, and bravery we have seen from these young people throughout their lives and particularly in their time at our school. They shared honestly about the challenges they experienced, as well as their triumphs.
To give you a small taste of what we heard in the graduation tent, here are a few words from Tricia Kane, parent of Vira '25:
This year, I watched my daughter Vira step into herself in a way that was beautiful. She showed up for her growth — with honesty, with effort, and with heart. She did the work, even when it was uncomfortable or uncertain. What I hope she carries with her today is a deep, unshakable sense of pride in herself — and the confidence to keep moving forward. To keep showing up, to keep doing the work, and to keep becoming the person she’s meant to be. Because this moment isn’t just something that happened to her — it’s something she earned. And it’s just the beginning.
And that’s true for all of you. Graduating from Rock Point doesn’t just mark the end of school — it marks the choice to grow. To try. To become. You have every reason to be proud — not just of the diploma, but of who you’ve become along the way. This moment is yours. Congratulations to each of you.
Next year, Vira will be studying game design at Champlain College. We are happy that many of our graduates will also be staying in Burlington at UVM (Riley, Paisleigh Ava, Chace, and Max). We hope that Dany will visit from Merrimack College, and Emma will cross the lake to see us while she's at SUNY Plattsburgh. We have a few graduates who are headed further afield, such as Moss (Junianta College), Nina (Sarah Lawrence College), May (Community College of Aurora in Colorado), and Palmer (applying to the Peterson School). We can't wait to hear all about their adventures and hope they will be able to visit in person soon!
