Our Arts Festival is a yearly tradition that displays every Rock Point School students’ artwork, across various types of creative media including visual, written, and theatrical. The idea of the event is to display the vast and unique styles from each student and to showcase the artistry in our community. We are pleased to open up our doors to show parents, friends, and members of the Burlington community our works and give back to the people that make our Art Show possible!

The Arts Fest spans two days from March 27-28, 2026, and is open to the public to attend at Rock Point School. On Friday, March 27, attendees can walk around the building, observe student artwork on display, and eat treats prepared by our student bakers. Then, on Saturday, March 28, students will perform their completely student-written-and-directed plays. Each play was designed as a ten-minute play written as part of a collaboration with the Vermont Young Playwrights' Project. The pieces shown also have the artist’s choice of being sold. Small items, trinkets or handmade jewelry are given to you directly while framed pieces are sold without the frames.

Let's "ketchup" with the arts and "relish" in creativity!

Preparing for the Arts Fest

At Rock Point School, students have art class every day, and they spend art classes making pieces with the ultimate goal of displaying them for the annual Arts Fest. Each academic year follows a different curriculum such as freshmen and sophomore learning painting, juniors practicing mixed media and pointillism, and seniors making self portraits. On Fridays, students also take a break from our normal art class for Fun Friday, where they can work on personal projects like drawings, animations, or work on stained glass pieces in Rock Point’s very own stained glass room. Outside of classes, students also engage in different arts like baking, stop motion, and digital arts, which they are also welcome to present at the art show.

“This show has grown to be a fun event to look forward to. Students can express themselves through all different creative media, free from restriction and judgment. A big thanks to our art teacher Jeannie Waltz for making it happen every year!” - Chelsea D., Senior at Rock Point School.

With each progressing year, Rock Points School strives to create more opportunities in and out of classes to nurture students’ artistic self expression.

We hope you’ll join us at Arts Fest and celebrate the creativity of our students with us!
