Theater Showcase March 22nd

Theater Showcase

Join us for a night of theater on March 22, 2024 at 6:00 p.m.

Our students are excited to share original 10-minute plays written for the Vermont Young Playwright's Festival and scenes from Shakespeare!

This winter, students worked with professional playwright Geeda Searforce to create their own short plays to submit to the Festival. For our theater showcase, we will feature three of these creative works: "A Writer's Muse" by Anabel (grade 9), "Washington State" by Ziggy (grade 12), and "The Rulers of Nowhere and Somewhere" by Chelsea (grade 10). We can't wait to see these plays come to life!

In addition to these original plays, students will also perform scenes from A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Tempest, and The Taming of the Shrew by Shakespeare. In English class, students have been reading and discussing these plays and, for their final project, selected a scene to interpret on stage. They are excited to breathe new life into these classic plays.

We hope you'll join us to celebrate creativity, talent, and drama on March 22nd!
