Maple Tours 2014

Posted by Isaiah Keepin | March 2, 2014

maple_tours_2014Spring is almost here and we are getting excited for the 2014 edition of our annual maple tours!

Each year we host hour-long student-led tours of our sugaring program, making syrup from our own sugarbush right here in Burlington! Our sugarhouse is a beautiful example of post-and-beam construction using local timbers, and visiting our sugarbush is a great chance to walk around the beautiful Rock Point property in the snowy early spring.

School groups and others of various ages have delighted as our students lead a tour involving tapping trees, collecting sap, checking out the boiler, and hanging out in the sugar house. There's even maple syrup on ice cream to top it all off! We may be able to help provide transportation as well; please ask if you're interested.

We provide these tours free of charge to our community, but please consider making a donation to our non-profit sugaring program.

To book a tour, or ask questions, please contact Jean Waltz at jwaltz@rockpoint.org or (802) 863-1104.

See you there!
