18th Annual Ooky Spooky 5k on October 22, 2022

There's a chill in the air which must mean it's Ooky Spooky time! In 2004 an inspired Residential Educator and enthusiastic runner, Brad Bannon, came up with the idea to host a 5k race to benefit COTS (Committee on Temporary Shelter) and we have been doing it ever since! We fully support COTS in its mission to advocate for long-term solutions to end homelessness and help those in our community experiencing homelessness.

This fun 5k race challenges runners to get creative with their costumes and enjoy a course that goes through the RPS campus, on the Burlington Bike Path, and through North Beach.

Sign-in begins at 8:00 a.m. and the race kicks off at 9:00 a.m. Runners of all ages and abilities are invited to participate! There is a suggested donation of $15 for adults and $5 for children under 13. We will award prizes for best costumes and best times and each runner will be entered in a raffle for more prizes! You could win a gift card from a local business, Rock Point Maple Syrup, Honey, and more! Snacks and water will be provided for participants.

Register for the Ooky Spooky 5k

Each runner needs to complete a waiver before participating in the race. You can complete it before the race and email it to, or we will have them available on the morning of the event.

If you have questions, email Molly at or call the school at 802-863-1104.
